Lola Looks Launches

After following several personal fashion blogs for some time now (e.g. What I Wore Today, T Minus, T Plus, and Work With What You've Got), I've decided to start my own! I've actually been taking pictures of my outfits each day for a while, so it's time to share them!

Here is yesterday's outfit, which I wore once before and really liked. I knew yesterday was going to be a busy day, so I decided to at least wear something I knew looked good and would make me happy. I love the purple and brown/tan combination! (Also, these shoes get lots of compliments and are very comfortable... I'm all about comfy shoes.)

This was my first time taking pictures at this angle. It took a few tries to get it right...

I might go back and add some past photos (back-dated), so don't be surprised if you see entries prior to this one - but this is the first :o)

Cool and Comfortable

To make up for wearing such uncomfortable shoes the day before, I decided to wear a very comfortable outfit. I love the neckline of this top (I have three, in different colors)! The best part of this outfit was the sandals. I love Clarks sandals, these were my little splurge last summer. They're casual enough that I can wear them with jeans, but I can also wear them to work, especially with black pants, and nobody would bat an eye.

Most days I take pictures before I leave for work, but today I did them when I got home. You can tell because my hair has curled significantly!

I actually chose this outfit thinking I would be seeing some people I'd seen the day before, and I wanted to be dressed noticeably differently, but I ended up missing them. Oh well!

Career Day

Today I went to my alma mater to speak to some members of my fraternity about resumes, job-hunting, interviews, etc. I had been planning to wear something like I would wear to work, but at the last minute changed my mind and chose a more casual outfit. I'm glad I did, because it turned out to be a very casual event. I still looked put-together, though.

Here's another view of those shoes. I don't usually wear things with heels, but they're actually very comfortable. (I did have to put little rubber things in the backs so my heels don't slip out when I walk.) They look great with jeans for a casual/put-together look. I would love to find another similar pair!

Easter Eating

Easter was all about eating! We had easter brunch with my family, then later went to easter dinner at my in-laws'.

For brunch, I went with a skirt and sandals - I was so excited about it officially being spring, even though it was freezing. Also, the skirt has an elastic waistband - always plan ahead for buffets!

For dinner, I changed into jeans and wore a different color cardigan that coordinated better with my shoes and purse. Not that anyone saw those while we were all sitting around the table.

Overnight Getaway

My husband and I always go away for the night the Friday before easter, coming home on Saturday. Here's my outfits from our mini-vacation.

When we left, it was a cool day, with a chance of rain. I wore jeans and a t-shirt, with a courderoy jacket. (For some reason, I didn't have the jacket on when I took my picture... but I'm wearing it in this picture to the left.) We spent the day walking around shops in the little town we visited, so I didn't want to be messing with bulky jackets and stuff. I carried an umbrella in my purse, but it actually didn't rain until we were leaving dinner - and even then, it was just a sprinkle.

The next day we went to a museum before heading home. I wore a 3/4 sleeve shirt, sweater, and a jacket (it was raining for real this time), and it was a good thing, because the museum is old and barely heated. On a cold, rainy day, you need a coat there!
