I decided on Wednesday that I would take today off work - no reason other than that I have some vacation time I have to use up, and the next couple months are going to be busy at work. I ended up going out to lunch and then just doing some chores I'd been putting off at home.

Left to its own devices, my hair is wavy, but I have to "do" it in order to be presentable. It's a lot more effort than just wearing it straight!
And, in case you were wondering what kind of cat situation is going on behind me, here you go.
I got this sweater around Christmas time but hadn't worn it yet because I don't really like turtlenecks* or things up around my neck. However, this neck unbuttons, so it's only like a turtleneck on one side. Then in the afternoon I saw my reflection in the bathroom mirror and thought maybe this looked too much like a Star Trek uniform. What do you think?

Confession: I am wearing "shapewear" under here! I got this smoothing top thing and thought this thin, clingy sweater would be a great candidate to wear with it. It worked great!
* One of my favorite Mitch Hedberg quotes: "Wearing a turtleneck is like being strangled by a really weak guy, all day. Wearing a backpack and a turtleneck is like a weak midget trying to bring you down."
Monday was a holiday, Tuesday I stayed home due to the snow (our office opened late anyway), and Wednesday was my normal day to work from home, so today was my first day in the office this week! Good thing I wore this warm sweater, there was a breeze by my desk!

Here is that "before and after" picture of my hair I promised. The change is a bit more dramatic than I'd thought!
For any day this week that I didn't post a picture, I was wearing some variation of this outfit. The main reason is that this sweater is super warm, so by wearing it with a long-sleeved shirt and gloves, I can run from the car to wherever I'm going without having to mess with a coat.

I got a haircut yesterday! I will post better comparison pictures later, but the fun thing now is that when I curl "just the ends," I end up with a nice wavy head of hair!
I'd wanted a tan cardigan for a while (yes, I have that cable-knit one, but I wanted a plain one), and I found this one last month on crazy sale at the Limited. Love it!

In other news, I returned those new pants to the Limited today. I hate returning stuff - even if it's done totally honestly, I feel like the store is going to think I'm trying to pull one over on them.
I was not feeling good this morning, but I'd worked from home due to snow on Friday and am taking the day off tomorrow, so I trudged off to work this morning anyway. That was a mistake. After sitting at my desk for two hours feeling like I might pass out, I headed back home and spent the rest of the day working in bed.

The good news is, the fact that I only wore this sweater for two hours means it's fair game to wear again soon!
I think I wore this sweater sometime last week while I was on vacation. I don't remember. Luckily, sweaters don't have to be washed every time, right? Especially when you're wearing a tank or something underneath.

Back to work - and now I have to get used to writing "2011" on things!
Sweater - H&M Camisole - Old Navy Slacks - Gap Shoes - American Eagle Necklace - Target
I really wanted to wear these shoes, so I ended up wearing the necklace that goes so nicely with them. A co-worker commented that it was pretty, and for once I was able to just accept the compliment without blurting out, "Thanks, it's from Target!"
