A little blurry today, but it was so cold, I broke out a sweater!
My first day back in the office after a week off! The debut of another new shirt I got while I was off last week (which was, for some reason, my first Loft purchase)! Also, it's super cold now!
If you've wondered where I am this week, I'm on vacation. Or "staycation," since I just took a week off work to stay home. Early in the week I went to the outlets and got a bunch of stuff, including this shirt!
Oh you thought I had forgotten about this gray sweater, just because I hadn't worn it yet this week? I am in love with it, actually. I don't know how else to describe it, other than that it is the ideal piece for how I want to represent myself.
Pulled out another jersey cardigan from my closet, showed up at work, and... a friend was wearing almost the exact same outfit!
I prefer this other pose, but the picture is so blurry it's pretty much unusable. Sigh.
Haven't pulled out this purple jersey thing in a while!
I could cut 10 inches off my hair and nobody would notice. But today I curled my hair and had people commenting all day and even saying they didn't recognize me!
A "running around doing errands" outfit. I love the color of this sweater, but it pills horribly.
I was trying to plan this outfit in advance because we had a girls night out planned for after work, so I like to wear something that I can take straight to dinner, or change into jeans and then go. Then I had the added stress of having a last-minute dental appointment this morning. (Everything's fine.) So I just picked whatever was on top of my shirt and sweater piles, haha. But I think it turned out fine.
As happens many mornings, I picked out this sweater and then found a bunch of stuff to go with it. I also decided I wanted to wear these shoes, I don't wear them often enough. Ehh, kind of unhappy with it, but whatever.
Today was my birthday! I didn't do anything really special, though. Just went to work, then out to dinner with my husband.
I love this sweater. I wasn't even looking for something like this when I bought it, but it's so perfect for so many things! Tonight my husband and I went out and I asked him to hold it for me for a second, and he commented on how light it is! I said, "I know, isn't it great?!"
I liked this second picture better, but it came out so blurry. Boo.
All I knew this morning was that I wanted to wear this pink sweater. And it was raining. The rest just happened.
I did not feel like going back to work this morning after the long weekend. In fact, I never really felt like I fully woke up all day.
Friday before a holiday weekend... Perfect day to be in the office! (Because nobody else is there!) Think I've gotten enough use out of this gray sweater this week? I think the problem was that it didn't even make it back into the closet between wearings...
Holy cow, how'd it get to be September already?! Being the first of the month, it was a very busy day for me at work. I did get to work a little with a friend who is also the Stella & Dot consultant who sold me this necklace. She complimented me on it :o)
Of all the pictures I took this morning, the one above was the best. And I didn't want to use it because you can see the white inside of the sweater. And now I've just pointed it out to you further.
I took so many pictures this morning, and ended up making goofy faces in all of them. This was the least goofy.
After an exciting hurricane weekend, I was ready to go back to work this morning! Luckily, we did not loose power or water and I only had to detour around one flooded bridge on my way in. Many of my coworkers, both here and in other states, were not as lucky. Also, every meeting I had scheduled today ended up getting canceled.
A co-worker and I went out for lunch and a little hurricane shopping. Good thing she stocked up on water then, the supermarket was already almost out of it!
Why are Thursdays always my busiest day at work? For everyone else it seems like it's a free day, so why am I always packed with meetings and emergencies?
So, how about that earthquake today! Besides that, the weather was gorgeous - I learned that when I got to take a little post-earthquake break outdoors.
How long have I been looking for a 3/4 sleeve gray sweater? A long time. Thanks, Target, for finally providing one for me!
Today we took one of our coworkers out to lunch because it was her last day at the company. It was pouring rain this morning, which forced me to change my plan of wearing my hair in a bun today, but you'll have to trust that otherwise I was ready to go with the Spin Pins!
These Bass Sunjuns aren't exactly the strappy black sandals I've been looking for, but they'll do for now. I got these at the Bass Outlet and they're actually half a size too small for me, but they didn't have my size in any color, and actually these fit just fine. Disregard the nail polish, it's getting a little messy at this point.
And here's how I looked for much of the day - I was warm and didn't wear a sweater the whole time, though I did put it on when I went to lunch because four of the six of us were wearing purple and black!
So many times I have an outfit planned out in the morning and then one piece at a time change it until I'm wearing something completely different. This almost happened today, but finally I convinced myself to stick with the original plan. This is almost identical to an outfit I wore previously, but I curled my hair today, so I figured it was different enough to warrant a new photo.
I got this shell as part of a twinset, proceeded to wear the cardigan part to death, and pretty much never wore the sleeveless top. So here it is! I guess it is a little, um, form-fitting?
Sadly, this may be the last time you ever see this shirt. When I got home from my errands this morning, I found some black streaks on the front that haven't come out, despite two washings, Spray & Wash, and OxiClean. Boo :o(
I had been planning to wear a skirt today, and then I thought I'd wear capris, but in the end I just wore black pants. But I did debut these new sandals I got the other day at the Bass outlet! (Their shoes were "buy 1, get 2 free!" They are always having crazy sales there!)
New sandals - they are not my usual flat footwear, but I can deal with wedges, and these were very comfortable.
I haven't worn this shirt for quite a while (in fact, the last time I see it on this blog was last August). I might have a problem, because when I asked my husband how I looked this morning, the first thing he said was, "This shirt isn't as low-cut as what you usually wear." (Well, it isn't...)
These pants are another of my recent outlet mall purchases. Yes, they look a lot like all my other NY&Co pants, but they are a little darker gray, and they have usable pockets! Plus they have some nice stretch to them.
Ok, well, we'll see how long this lasts. It was kind of a bunch of work to cut the background out of these pictures. And then I saved them as GIFs so they could blend with whatever background, but Flickr just makes them back into JPGs, so it doesn't really matter in the end. Maybe with just one picture it wouldn't be so bad, but of course I cut off my feet in the better shot, so had to get another.
Here's my new watch I got at the Fossil outlet this weekend. It came with three (!) removable links, so I could make it fit my teeny wrist. It was weird wearing a watch that actually fit well today!
I realized my sweater was all wonky in this picture, so I took a second one... and it came out even worse. So here's what you get.
Well, I have nothing to say about today. It was a Thursday. I was asked (as I am every time I wear them) if these are new sandals. When I said I've had them for a few years, I was told I must take very good care of my shoes. Ha ha.
I love this shirt, but I don't think I've worn it since March! Definitely had to remedy that...
The first of the month is always a busy day for me at work. Today was a particularly busy one.
I keep calling this a cardigan or sweater, but it's really made out of a lightweight jersey knit. Also, it buttons shut but I prefer the way it looks when it's open, what do you think?
