07.10.12

Yesterday I didn't even wear my sweater all day. So today I didn't even bother. Anyway, I was only in the office for the morning, then I left for an appointment and worked from home the rest of the day. And half our department is out of town this week. So it was ok to be casual :o)

I really like these sandals - silver is a great neutral!

I gave the curler another try today, this time using a higher heat setting and more, smaller sections of hair, clipping the rest out of the way. It didn't take that much longer, and I like the results much better. My husband said it looked "more dynamic," haha!

I wanted to wear a skirt today, but changed my mind about the short-sleeved sweater (Mossimo, btw) because I figured I'd be way too cold in my office. I was right - with bare legs, long sleeves were definitely needed. But I think my hair looks better in the short-sleeve picture, so it stays :o)

It was supposed to be warmer and more humid today, so I planned to wear a skirt (to take advantage of having recently shaved my legs). But then I decided I'd be too cold in the office, so I switched to pants.

Outtake!

So many women at work today were wearing purple, or purple and black. Then my husband and I went to the mall tonight, and tons of people there were wearing purple, too!

After a few teaser days of fall, we're back to summer at the moment. So I revived one of my summer outfits. I thought I was done with sandals for this year!

Ah, the perils of a "duplicate buyer." This outfit is almost identical to the one I wore a year ago today (completely unintentional!), except I snipped the tags off of almost every item I put on this morning - everything but the sandals, necklace, and watch was brand new. Even my underwear was new. (And holy wedgie, Batman! I will not be wearing those again.)

I was nominated by Natalie for this Sugar Doll award :o) Part of the award is that I'm supposed to nominate ten more bloggers to receive it, however... I don't think there are ten people who read this blog. The people I do know, probably were already just nominated! So, I will skip that part... And I'm supposed to list ten things about myself, and since I am so bad at listing things about myself, I will again base my answers on Natalie's:

  1. I love having guests over, but because of our lack of air conditioning, get-togethers at our place are on hold until the fall.

  2. For a couple years in college, I was obsessed with RISD. I read all the RISD student blogs I could get my hands on.

  3. Until a few months ago, I didn't know that my husband's college had a mascot. I'm still not sure what it is.

  4. You know this already: I love cheese.

  5. Thanks to an online friend, I've been playing a lot of Typeracer recently. (Let me know if you want to race!)

  6. You already know my first job. My second job was working as a supermarket cashier. The store I worked at, where I made so many friends, is about to close :o(

  7. I don't really decorate. I have a few pieces of art around the house, but I hate knicknacks, and I'm not into hammering nails into the walls.

  8. I haven't had a lot of jobs with perks. Maybe the "perkiest" job I had was working at our on-campus convenience store in college - somehow my friends all ended up with discounts.

  9. My husband buys a lot of DVDs, but I don't really feel the need to own movies - if I've watched it once, that's usually enough for me.

  10. I'm awesome at sleeping, but most of the time I can't fall asleep unless I'm laying on my right side.

I have two of these gauzy skirts (with pockets!), but I'm not sure if I've ever worn them to work before. It's because they're slightly shorter than I like to wear to the office, exposing my knees when standing - and a bit more than that while seated. I was sort of uncomfortable about it all day. It wasn't against our dress code or anything, but I was kind of glad that it was Friday and there weren't many people around.

Yes, I wore the uncomfortable Bandolino sandals again, and discovered another negative thing - walking outside in the drizzle, my feet slipped on the wet sandals, and I almost slipped out of them a few times walking through the parking lot.

07.06.10

It was 100 degrees here today, so of course I was going to wear a skirt and have my hair pulled back.

Shirt - Old Navy
Skirt - H&M
Sandals - Bandolino
Hair Clip - Claire's
Necklace - Kathryn Reichert
Watch - Xhileration

I got these sandals a couple years ago and have worn them maybe once or twice. Today I remembered why: the footbed is hard, and the arch part hits me in a weird spot. Kind of uncomfortable - but not too bad, considering I sit most of the day.

I took my picture backwards today to show off my new hair clip, but then I found that kind of creepy, so here's a forwards one, too!
