The weather today was absolutely perfect. Of course, I was in an office building for the best ten hours, so I wouldn't really know. But I was comfortable without a jacket.

I was going to wear a black shirt with this, but then I decided this rainy Monday needed a little bit of brightening up.
We were supposed to meet up with some friends for the day, but they had a family thing come up, so instead we went to do our weekly food shopping at the fancy supermarket. What an exciting life!
Went out with my husband for dinner and a movie. I didn't have time to get a really good picture because my husband reminded me that the movie started half an hour than I had thought, so I had to hurry up and go!
This shouldn't count because I didn't actually get a full body shot, but oh well, I make the rules around here. I was on a business trip for most of this week, so no other pictures. Since I was back at the office, I was super busy with things that had to be done on the first of the month.
My husband and I went out for lunch with another couple and their kid. We went to a new restaurant that only serves various types of peanut butter sandwiches!
I wish I either could take clearer pictures in the mirror, or had a place at this height to sit my camera for timer pictures. I usually don't mind shooting down from above a little bit, but it does make my legs look stumpy and sometimes I prefer a more straight-on angle.
After a few teaser days of fall, we're back to summer at the moment. So I revived one of my summer outfits. I thought I was done with sandals for this year!
I'm back! I had a weekend and a couple vacation days and a day of working from home, but today I was back in the office for the first time in almost a week.

It seems like nobody is in the office on Fridays! Which I like, actually - I got things done that have been on my to-do list for a couple weeks. But we did have a large meeting for our entire site this morning, so I knew I'd be in a room with a couple hundred other people, and also that I'd probably get cold.
Yes, I am wearing Gap pants and CL shoes again. But this is a different pair of pants - black, not gray.
I remembered at the last minute that I had a meeting with someone I hadn't before, so I went with my patterned cardigan and one of my favorite purple shirts. And after wearing the gray Gap pants and Chinese Laundry flats twice already this week, I decided to give them a break.
I don't usually go into the office on Wednesdays, but I had to be there today to do some work. I figured I'd just keep it casual since I didn't have any meetings or anything.
I ended up finishing my work early, so I took the afternoon off and had time to relax at home before going out to band practice for the evening.
I started a new job a few weeks ago, and I think it's finally starting to catch up with me - suddenly it's like I'm in non-stop meetings! This might be the end of wearing fitted t-shirts to work.
My husband took me out to one of our favorite restaurants to celebrate my birthday. I was going to wear a different top, but it just didn't look right... and then neither did the next one I tried, or the next one. So in the end, I just went with one of my double-layer ones from Target.
When I bought this sweater thing (still not exactly sure what to call it), I wasn't totally sure about the style or the ruffles. But when I wore it to work today I got a lot of compliments on it! So I guess it was a good choice. (Speaking of compliments, I also got lots of compliments on my new purse [you saw it here yesterday], which I was also unsure of, so I feel better about that choice, too.)
Today was the second and final day of meetings at work. I didn't have to be there the whole time, but the parts I attended fit around the other appointments I already had scheduled. So I was busy!
After work I got changed and then went out for an early birthday dinner with my mother. It was also the debut of my new purse! Not my usual style, but I wanted to break out of my purse rut...
We had visitors from out of town and all-day meetings today, followed by a group dinner, so I needed an outfit that would be comfortable and put-together. I decided to wear my magical brown pants that make my legs look long and slim.
I bought new pants this weekend! The Gap was having a huge sale (they were like half off), so get ready to see something other than New York & Company under the pants category :o)
This was my only day in the office this week, so I wanted to look decent - even though with the holiday weekend coming up, there were even fewer people in the office than there usually are on Fridays.
This was the second day of my trip, but the first day of my two-day class. We had been told to wear "summer business casual" attire, but there was actually a lot of variety in what people ended up wearing to class, from suits to jeans.
I just picked up this purple piece at Ross last weekend. It's not a sweater, but I'm not sure what to call it - it's just a long-sleeved, knit, cardigan-like top with ruffles around the neck. I figured it was a good way to get in on the ruffle trend. And I love the color! This outfit was specifically chosen because I went straight from day two of my class to the several-hour train ride home, so I wanted to be comfy.
Looking pretty put-together for a Friday... especially considering I saw maybe five people in my office today (there are about five thousand people at my site).
I felt like this was a very Natalie-esque outfit today! I got this shirt a couple years ago and I think this is maybe the third time I've worn it. I really like it, it's just not that flattering on me - it turns sort of tent-like. Sigh.
I've come to realize that it's impossible to take a flattering picture of myself wearing this top. I don't know, maybe it fits weird? It just seems to make me look big and boxy, rather than conforming to my shape or whatever. Too bad, because I like it. I think it looks okay in person...
Ready for a Monday full of meetings. You'll see I'm back to the new sandals. So far so good, foot pain-wise.
Remember how I mentioned that I hurt my foot somehow on Friday? I have a feeling that it might have been from wearing my new black sandals. I hope not, but that's the only thing that changed, foot-wise, leading up to this foot pain. So out of fear, I wore my super-comfy Clarks sandals today.
Last night on I mentioned that it would be nice to have a Closet Fairy who would just hand me an outfit in the morning so I wouldn't have to spend time picking out clothes. Unfortunately, she never turned up today. So this was the best I could do on my own.
Today we took a train into the city to go to a fun indoor/outdoor activity to celebrate my husband's birthday. I hurt my foot yesterday and we were doing a lot of walking today, so sneakers were a must. And the weather was cool enough to wear jeans, hooray!
Happy Friday the 13th! I had to pick out my own clothes for the first time this week, and all I knew was that I wanted to wear this necklace.
Today was the last day of outfits that Natalie picked out for me. I was excited about this one! She said to match a cardigan to the blue stripe in this top, and I just happened to have one in the perfect color!
Yet another outfit chosen by Natalie - though to be fair, I had been thinking about pairing this top with these pants since the success of my last pink and brown pairing. I don't usually wear white, though, so the cardigan was all her idea.
Another idea stolen from Natalie - she's asked how we organize jewelry. As you may have noticed, I don't really wear a ton of jewelry. Back in middle school when I got my ears pierced, I was totally into all sorts of funky earrings and big crazy necklaces. But now I just have a few small favorite pieces. My mother gave me this jewelry box, and it's perfect for my collection. (And I just reorganized it, luckily!) So I'm keeping easily tangled necklaces on the hooks inside the lid; watches, other necklaces, my one bracelet, and my two non-wedding rings on the upper trays; earrings in the small sections inside (here's a better shot of that); my flat watch and bulkier necklaces in the drawer underneath. The whole thing sits on top of my dresser.
Today's outfit was chosen by Natalie! She posted on Twitter last night that she'd already picked out her clothes for the week, so I asked her to do mine too - and she did! I have outfits lined up through Thursday.
I was excited because I'm taking off tomorrow, so today was my Friday. Also, I had my first staff meeting with my new group (even though it was just over the phone since we're in three different locations).
I really liked this outfit. I was going to wear a brown sweater, but I'm glad I decided to have a little more fun with it and go with the pink :o)
How is it August already? Didn't the summer just start? Oh well, I'll be glad if it ever cools off...
