Second try at the sweater! This time I wore it over a sleeveless top and kept it on all day - and got compliments!Shirt - Merona

Today was my first day back to the office after a four-day weekend. The facilities people apparently did not get that memo, as it felt for most of the day like they'd forgotten to turn the air conditioning back on. So I did not wear this fun new sweater all day. Maybe I'll try again on Thursday.
Day one of my four-day weekend! I spent the morning running errands, then went to a friend's house in the afternoon to help her pack, as she is moving in a couple weeks. We got her whole kitchen done, plus I got to hang out with her kids and we had pizza for dinner :o)
I love the neckline of this shirt! Ok, it's more than the neckline, it's really the whole front of the shirt. Love it!
Ugh, what a horrible picture. Today was my Friday, as I have a 4-day weekend. However, it was also one of the busiest workdays I've had in a long time. I had solid meetings scheduled from 9 AM to 4 PM, with a little half-hour break somewhere in there. I guess a lot of people wanted to get things done before the holiday.
It was supposed to be warmer and more humid today, so I planned to wear a skirt (to take advantage of having recently shaved my legs). But then I decided I'd be too cold in the office, so I switched to pants.
Outtake!
It was so quiet at work today. When I got to the office, I seriously wanted to double-check that it wasn't a Sunday or holiday. I think a lot of people are taking the week off to take advantage of the holiday, and also the majority of our department is apparently at a conference out of state this week.
Of course, one of my best work friends was also wearing black and gray. Then my husband and I went out for ice cream after dinner, and he had on a black and gray t-shirt. Guess it was a black and gray kind of day...
This wasn't exactly what I'd been planning to wear, but you know how it is - you switch out the shirt, and then you change your mind about the shoes, and then it's a different sweater... and then you've got a whole new outfit.
Nice quiet Friday at work. I kind of hate these sandals, though. The straps are always messed up, and today one of them broke (again - I'd already fixed it last year with superglue).
This was a second-choice shirt. I was going to wear this hot pink H&M shirt (last seen here), but it was so wrinkly and saggy looking. I don't know what was going on with it. I may actually get rid of that top (and its green and purple cousins), they have always fit kind of weird...
I always have a hard time with this top - it's long and loose, and with my regular work pants it makes me look so sloppy. But these pants are cut a little slimmer than my others so I think it looked okay. Anyway, I was one of about four people on my whole floor today - a lot of people in our department are away for a meeting this week.
I haven't been wearing sweaters much at work because it's relatively comfortable in my office. Turns out the guy in the office next to me had some problem with his air conditioning that made it really hot in there. They "fixed" it by setting it so the AC is on at full blast all the time, so it is now freezing where I am, as the cold air billows out. The sweater was in full effect today. Sigh.
I was hoping for a stress-free week at work, but boy, it got off to a busy start! Also, two of us were wearing purple v-necks with black pants. I always end up matching someone...
Since it was another quiet Friday at work, I wore jeans to the office. Also, I was going out after work with some friends :o) I hate tucking stuff in, but this top is so long, I really have to.Nine West | Cole Haan |
You may notice I'm in a different room today. That is because we had a little cat-astrophe this morning (don't ask) that led to me stripping the sheets off the bed and my husband going back to sleep for a bit in the room where I usually do my pictures.
I really like the cut of this shirt and the pintuck detail, but I feel like the color just doesn't go with anything else. I hate it with black. I guess with gray pants it's just okay. What color would you pair it with?
I should have known that on the Friday before a holiday weekend, nobody would show up to attend any meetings in person.
Today was another one of those "you stood in front of the closet for how long to come up with this?!" mornings. It's just that it was so hot and humid, but I didn't want to wear anything sleeveless in case I took off my sweater because I haven't shaved under my arms for a couple days... Ah, the trials of being a woman. It turned out to be a good choice because I actually wore the sweater for 0.0 minutes all day at work.
Whoops, we are a little blurry today. We will have to try harder next time.
Fridays are always quiet at work, except I have a standing meeting with an external vendor that actually takes place in person, so I do feel bad dressing too casually. I hadn't worn this shirt to work yet, but I think it worked for a semi-casual day.
I try to at least have an idea the night before or in the morning of what I want to wear for the day, so I'm not just standing in front of my closet. This morning all that came to mind was "pink and brown," and I didn't want to wear that pink and brown striped top. So I pulled out this sweater that I haven't worn in a while. I guess a lot of other people had the "pink" idea this morning, too - I think I counted five other women in my area at work who also had on pink tops!
It's gotten quite a bit chillier this week, so I thought I'd get one more use out of this long-sleeved sweater thing. It's very lightweight, but I did end up pushing the sleeves up by the end of the day.
Here's the second watch I got at New York & Company. It's just a plain, stretchy-band watch, but I really like it. (Even though I have tiny wrists, my current stretchy-band watch is so tight! And the metal makes my skin itch. This one doesn't!)
I was sick all last week and didn't really wear any makeup (both didn't feel like it and didn't want to contaminate it with my germs). Feeling better this week, though, and brightening up with some lipstick.
I may have mentioned that my little Xhileration watch from Target was breaking, and wasn't worth the cost of repairing? I've been looking for a replacement, and picked up this one at New York & Company on Friday - they were buy one, get one half off! Moments after taking this picture, I realized I hadn't yet removed the little tab for the battery or set the time.
Nothing that I thought was going to happen at work today happened. But I did get to go to a picnic at work. And later I swapped my gray pants for jeans and went out to dinner with my husband.
Oh look, I wore those new shoes again! I was planning to wear a necklace, but nothing was falling in the right place compared to the neckline of this shirt, so I ended up wearing earrings. I try to avoid wearing them when I know I'm going to be on the phone all day, but, oh well...
Took a few tries to get a good picture this morning - I have a bad cold (didn't even go to the office yesterday) and in every shot I looked like I was about to die :o( (Good news: I'm feeling better already, I think I'll beat this thing!)

I wear little stocking socks almost every day, but I skipped them today because 1) it was warm, and 2) these shoes have a spot that destroys stocking socks, and I just pulled out a new pair, so I didn't want to wreck them right away. What's the point of this story? My feet are very pale.
Please disregard the fact that I look somewhat insane in this picture. I was supposed to have a bunch of meetings today, but then they ended up getting canceled or the people I was meeting with just called, rather than meeting in person, so as usual I was hardly seen by anyone all day.
