How long have I been looking for a 3/4 sleeve gray sweater? A long time. Thanks, Target, for finally providing one for me!
Today we took one of our coworkers out to lunch because it was her last day at the company. It was pouring rain this morning, which forced me to change my plan of wearing my hair in a bun today, but you'll have to trust that otherwise I was ready to go with the Spin Pins!
These Bass Sunjuns aren't exactly the strappy black sandals I've been looking for, but they'll do for now. I got these at the Bass Outlet and they're actually half a size too small for me, but they didn't have my size in any color, and actually these fit just fine. Disregard the nail polish, it's getting a little messy at this point.
And here's how I looked for much of the day - I was warm and didn't wear a sweater the whole time, though I did put it on when I went to lunch because four of the six of us were wearing purple and black!
So many times I have an outfit planned out in the morning and then one piece at a time change it until I'm wearing something completely different. This almost happened today, but finally I convinced myself to stick with the original plan. This is almost identical to an outfit I wore previously, but I curled my hair today, so I figured it was different enough to warrant a new photo.
I got this shell as part of a twinset, proceeded to wear the cardigan part to death, and pretty much never wore the sleeveless top. So here it is! I guess it is a little, um, form-fitting?
Sadly, this may be the last time you ever see this shirt. When I got home from my errands this morning, I found some black streaks on the front that haven't come out, despite two washings, Spray & Wash, and OxiClean. Boo :o(
I had been planning to wear a skirt today, and then I thought I'd wear capris, but in the end I just wore black pants. But I did debut these new sandals I got the other day at the Bass outlet! (Their shoes were "buy 1, get 2 free!" They are always having crazy sales there!)
New sandals - they are not my usual flat footwear, but I can deal with wedges, and these were very comfortable.
I haven't worn this shirt for quite a while (in fact, the last time I see it on this blog was last August). I might have a problem, because when I asked my husband how I looked this morning, the first thing he said was, "This shirt isn't as low-cut as what you usually wear." (Well, it isn't...)
These pants are another of my recent outlet mall purchases. Yes, they look a lot like all my other NY&Co pants, but they are a little darker gray, and they have usable pockets! Plus they have some nice stretch to them.
Ok, well, we'll see how long this lasts. It was kind of a bunch of work to cut the background out of these pictures. And then I saved them as GIFs so they could blend with whatever background, but Flickr just makes them back into JPGs, so it doesn't really matter in the end. Maybe with just one picture it wouldn't be so bad, but of course I cut off my feet in the better shot, so had to get another.
Here's my new watch I got at the Fossil outlet this weekend. It came with three (!) removable links, so I could make it fit my teeny wrist. It was weird wearing a watch that actually fit well today!
I realized my sweater was all wonky in this picture, so I took a second one... and it came out even worse. So here's what you get.
Well, I have nothing to say about today. It was a Thursday. I was asked (as I am every time I wear them) if these are new sandals. When I said I've had them for a few years, I was told I must take very good care of my shoes. Ha ha.
I love this shirt, but I don't think I've worn it since March! Definitely had to remedy that...
The first of the month is always a busy day for me at work. Today was a particularly busy one.
I keep calling this a cardigan or sweater, but it's really made out of a lightweight jersey knit. Also, it buttons shut but I prefer the way it looks when it's open, what do you think?
I got this shirt the last time I was at Target, thinking it was one of my favorite Merona double-layer tees, in a fun new color. Turns out, it's just a regular single-layer shirt, but I really like the color, neckline, and fit, so it stays!
I got this gray peplum cardigan at New York & Company last week when I was out shopping with my husband. He very patiently waits for me to browse stores, try things on, and debate what to buy - and I definitely trust his opinion! Anyway, it was on sale when I bought it but now it's 50% off if you'd like one of your own. Very soft and light, perfect for summer.
I'm wearing tiny crystal earrings, too, but you can barely see them and I don't remember where I got them, so they're not on the list...
Today started out rainy, but after several extremely hot days, that cooled things down a bit and by lunchtime it was gorgeous out. In fact, I actually had to wear this sweater in the office because I was chilly! (Yes, it's a new one. I was eying it every time I went to Target because I love the color.)
Despite the high humidity, I had a pretty awesome hair day today.
I picked the wrong day this week to curl my hair. Or maybe the wrong week. It was crazy humid, and pretty much as soon as I stepped out of the house it went "ptttth." I think it kind of normalized later on, though. By the time I got home, it didn't look horrible.
I think I look less crazy in this other picture, but it's horribly blurry. Boo.
Confession: I wore this exact same outfit yesterday, for the last day of my work meetings. 
But, we finished up early and I got changed, and I didn't see any of the same people today, so I figured I could get one more day out of this. Especially since I didn't get a picture yesterday morning and I liked the outfit.
Today was the first day of our two-day "team building" meeting at work. After our full day of meetings, we were going to have dinner and do an activity at Dave & Buster's, so everyone got changed in between. I was planning to wear jeans and this same top, but ended up changing into a t-shirt, too. (Good thing - our activity was very active!)
I love this sweater. I have three of these in different colors, which I bought probably 4-5 years ago. However, I just snipped the tags off this gray one this morning!
I gave the curler another try today, this time using a higher heat setting and more, smaller sections of hair, clipping the rest out of the way. It didn't take that much longer, and I like the results much better. My husband said it looked "more dynamic," haha!
I wanted to wear a skirt today, but changed my mind about the short-sleeved sweater (Mossimo, btw) because I figured I'd be way too cold in my office. I was right - with bare legs, long sleeves were definitely needed. But I think my hair looks better in the short-sleeve picture, so it stays :o)
Yesterday a coworker and I went across the street to the new Charming Charlie store across the street, and I picked up this cute bracelet that does not photograph well. It's like a rubbery strap (that's why I like it - metal ones always irritate me) with turquoise sequins/rhinestones, and a little heart clasp - the heart actually flips up and down to latch the bracelet shut. I paired it with black and gray today at work, but wore it out later with denim capris.
Weather today was nice... I went out with a friend at lunchtime, it was pleasantly warm and not too humid.
Today my husband and I went to a folk festival. The weather was perfect (warm, sunny, and not humid), so I wanted to wear something that would be comfortable for lots of walking around and lots of eating!
I don't know why I bother dressing decently on Fridays, there are an average of 0.2 other people in my office on any given week.
I prefer the larger picture, but you can see my sandals in this one, sooo...
Second try at the sweater! This time I wore it over a sleeveless top and kept it on all day - and got compliments!
Today was my first day back to the office after a four-day weekend. The facilities people apparently did not get that memo, as it felt for most of the day like they'd forgotten to turn the air conditioning back on. So I did not wear this fun new sweater all day. Maybe I'll try again on Thursday.
Day one of my four-day weekend! I spent the morning running errands, then went to a friend's house in the afternoon to help her pack, as she is moving in a couple weeks. We got her whole kitchen done, plus I got to hang out with her kids and we had pizza for dinner :o)
I love the neckline of this shirt! Ok, it's more than the neckline, it's really the whole front of the shirt. Love it!
